Non-compliant sheet metal cladding could cost you millions.

A report published by the Victorian Building Authority in collaboration with The Metropolitan Fire Brigade, found that the use of a non-compliant polyethylene core material in the external wall cladding was the predominant contributor to blaze that engulfed the Lacrosse Apartment building in Port Melbourne.

Car manufacturing ends; but heavy vehicles roll on.

It’s the end of the line for automotive manufacturing in Australia this week. The final Holden V6 engine rolled off the production line in Port Melbourne after 80 years of manufacturing.

What remains, however, is a healthy AUD$1.8 billion truck and bus manufacturing industry.
