A ‘Fit-out’ fit for a global luxury brand

2016 Jun

We all know that in the retail game, impressions count and aesthetics are key.

Ensuring that every element of a shop’s presentation contributes to the overall perception of a brand and customer experience is, therefore, a fundamental component of effective shop fit-out. This is never more so than for the luxury end of the market.

At FORM2000, we’ve been excited to be involved in the recent fit-out for the Christian Louboutin feature store, forming part of the $670 million newly redeveloped Broadbeach Pacific Fair Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast.

The Louboutin store joins other luxury brands represented in the flagship shopping complex, including Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chanel, Givenchy and Tiffany & Co – with the development set to transform the Gold Coast into an international shopping destination.

We worked closely with appointed project managers, Ramvek – leading national specialists in retail, hospitality and commercial fit-outs – to transform the boutique design concept to practical reality, delivering custom, high spec interior sheet metal paneling utilised as wall cladding features and finishing.

The project consisted of over 40 individual, custom ‘Gold Stainless Steel’ sheet metal panels ranging in shape and size; each meticulously designed, engineered and installed to form a striking and impressive internal façade, which evolved into the feature piece of the fit out design.

Each custom gold stainless steel panel was precisely laser cut to include several hundred individual and uniformly positioned holes, setting the foundation for the installation of the unmistakable ‘Christian Louboutin spike’.

Given the critical importance of aesthetics and finish quality, FORM2000 went to extra lengths to ensure the mirror finished panels were handled with ‘kid gloves’. Each panel went through many processes in our Melbourne sheet metal factory including; Laser Cutting, Turret Punching, Folding, Assembly & Packaging, all the while ensuring that the mirror finish and delicate feature spikes were preserved!

The result. A distinctly unique, striking and sophisticated boutique interior reflecting (literally) the quality of the product and brand.

Proof again of the adaptability and high impact of metal as a decorative alternative, in providing a luxury feature finish.
