The release of the Andrews’ government Renewable Energy Roadmap in August 2015 provides a centrepiece for further public consultation this year designed to stimulate growth in the sector to 2020.
The Roadmap identifies four priority areas to address including the VRET, encouraging investment, structural issues inhibiting the growth of take-up of roof-top solar investment (and identified grid discrimination) and supporting jobs growth.
The Roadmap has a particular focus on stimulating solar power generation, facilitating the environment to drive investment and take-up within the local household market, SME and community-led solar generation and large-scale solar farm developments.
According to the Clean Energy Regulator, solar energy sector growth is expected to continue as technology development and scale-economies provide increased cost competitiveness. On a macro scale, successful completion of landmark large-scale projects in NSW for AGL at Nyngan (102MW) and Broken Hill (53MW) and further pipeline investment in Qld at Bulli Creek (to have a total footprint of up to 2000MW) will increase confidence in the sector’s future contribution.
We are all for jobs and growth at FORM2000.We believe that the Roadmap will provide Investment confidence that will unlock opportunities for local suppliers to the industry.
As an advanced sheet metal fabricator located in Melbourne, FORM2000 has the required capability and capacity to supply a range of sheet metal components for use in solar installation – supporting household, medium scale and industrial farm power generation.
This includes diverse sheet metal components ranging from ground and roof mounting frames for solar panels, solar panel frames, panel support sheets, collector flashing systems, tracking systems and inverter enclosures. In fact, any component featuring metal!
FORM2000 supplies a range of Australian based OEM manufacturers competing against overseas imports supplying the local renewable energy sector.
Our sheet metal manufacture allows for the construction of robust enclosures ideal for withstanding the type of harsh outdoor conditions endured by renewable energy systems and equipment. We manufacture using a wide range of materials including galvanized steel, stainless steel and aluminium. We also provide high volume powder coating and wet coating to provide further finishing and protection.
Following the release of the Roadmap and public consultation process, a Renewable Energy Action Plan will be formalised to drive priority actions.
Something to watch.
